About Us
Cyber
Sports Picks is the source for Football Selection!
We
only associate ourselves with Vegas Insiders that are “Football Experts” as a
result we know football handicapping! Our research and resulting selections are based on four (4) core
categories. Only our best selections
are provided to clientele. Here are the 4 core categories we focus on.
1. Facts and Trends
Our expert handicappers have access to volumes of detailed statistical
data which is reviewed for the little golden nuggets of information that result
in winning selections.
For
example, in 1998, the Pittsburgh Steelers finished the year 5-6 when playing on
artificial turf. This statistic provides very little useful information when
making a selection.Our team of
handicappers is looking for more significant trends with real value. For
instance: In 1998 the Atlanta Falcons were 12-1 when playing on artificial
turf. This statistic inspires our team to dig deeper and proceed to the next
category.
Other
facts that are incorporated into this category include: weather conditions,
player injuries, short or bye weeks, consecutive road games, and much more.
2. Against the Spread (ATS)
If it were as simple as tracking statistical trends, Las Vegas would be
a ghost town and you wouldn’t need Cyber Sports Picks to assist you with
your football selections. Instead we break down the facts and trends and weight
them against “the spread”.
For
example: In 1998, the Chicago Bears finished with a 3-8 record when playing
games on natural grass--Obviously a losing effort. Yet, against the point
spread in those games, the Bears had a 7-4 record. If you had played the Bears
based on facts and trends alone, you would have lost 73% of the time. But if
you took the Bears to win vs. the point spread when they played on grass, you
would have won 64% of the time. It’s useful information such as
this that leads our team to the next category.
3. Head to Head Match-ups
Cyber Sports Picks’ expert handicappers use a proven system that
analyses each teams last 6 games played. Using points scored and points
allowed, a formula is applied that results in a “rating” for each team and
subsequently, each game.This rating
indicates to our team what the line should be.
For
example: In week 1 of 1999, The Cardinals visited the Eagles. Using our systems
analysis, the ratings clearly indicated to us that Philadelphia should have
been a 9-point favorite. The actual line was Arizona minus 3 ½ points (a 12
½point swing and clear indicator). As
it turned out, Philadelphia was a strong play for us and a winner!
4. The “Steam”
After
all the Trends and Facts are reviewed and the spread and Head-to-Head Match-ups
analyzed; the last crucial factor is incorporated, the “Steam” (i.e. which team
is getting the most action). This is the “Vegas Inside Scoop” and information
typically not available to media and subsequently not accessible by the general
public. Cyber Sports Picks maintains the contacts and connections that
keep our team updated on the type of information that makes the difference
between winning verses losing.
